Designed for pizzeria owners and operators, there was something for everyone at International Pizza Expo™ 2006. When the show closed on Thursday afternoon, more than 5,400 attendees had visited nearly 1,000 exhibits and attended their choice of more than 60 educational sessions.

	On Day One (March 14 ), we paid special tribute to the hardworking Independent operator. The day began with an inspiring keynote address from Jeff Sayers, Mark Negro and John Kinnaird, owners of Mangia Chicago Stuffed Pizza, Pizzza Today's 2005 Independent of the Year.  The Pizza Festiva™ competition was held and Jodi Aufdencamp's Mama's Marmellata Amore took top honors as 2006 Pizza of the Year.  Jodi and her husband, Jeff, are owners of Mama Mimi's Take-N-Bake Pizza in Columbus, Ohio. The World Pizza Games™ Trials began building up to the finals on Wednesday evening.
	Day Two (March 15) began with special recognition given to Distributors and a keynote panel discussion featuring representatives from Little Caesars, DeAngelo's. and Quiznos. Preliminaries for the Italian Chef Wars™ were held and World Pizza Games™ Trials concluded. This special day really began to ROCK when the World Pizza Games™ Finals became a rockin' party for attendees and exhibitors with food, drink, music, and fun. You had to be there and see with your own eyes what these guys can do with pizza dough.
	Highlights of Day Three (March 16 ) included the finals of the Italian Chef Wars™ with Theo Kalogeracos, owner of Little Caesars Pizzeria in Perth,Australia, taking home the top prize money and trophy.  Just prior to the show closing, Chara Northrup from Morley, Michigan became our first $20,000 MEGA BUCKS winner.
