Pizza Today Young Entrepreneur
of the Year Award
Finalist Talks and Audience Vote
Wednesday, March 21
3:30 – 5 pm
In recognition of the tremendous talent and drive a new generation of entrepreneurs is bringing to the industry, Pizza Today and Pizza Expo conducted a nationwide search for the best and brightest pizzeria owner-operators who are under 40 years of age.
We sought nominations of pizza entrepreneurs who have been in business at least two years and can point to outstanding accomplishments and valuable community involvement during their evolving careers. Nominations were evaluated by Pizza Today’s editors and the staff of Pizza Expo, and three finalists for Young Entrepreneur of the Year were named. The finalists receive an expenses-paid trip to Pizza Expo, where they will each give a 15-minute talk about their companies and business philosophies. Expo attendees in the audience will then vote on the spot for the award’s winner.
The three finalists who will be appearing are:
• Sammy Mandell, owner Greenville Avenue Pizza Co., Dallas, TX
• Scottie Rivera, owner, Scottie’s Pizza Parlor, Portland, OR
• Christal Spata, co-owner, Valeo’s Pizza, Kenosha, WI
The three finalists will be brought onstage by moderator Scott Wiener. Audience members will hear each finalist and find time to network at this event geared to emerging pizza entrepreneurs.
The award-winner receives a memorial trophy and free tuition to Tony Gemignani’s International School of Pizza.
The deadline for submissions was Friday, December 15, 2017.
